After Brazil's big cities Foz do Iguaçu can seem a little on the small side even though it has a population of a couple of hundred thousand people. The falls themselves are at the end of Avenida das Cateratas in the national park. Most of the main hotels are also along this road as is the airport. If you arrive by coach you'll find yourself at the Rodoviaria just outside the city center. Taxis will of course take you to the national park, though as Avenida das Cateratas is several kilometers long the cheapest option is to take the Aeroporto / Parc Nacional bus.

Iguacu falls dissects the Brazilian / Argentine border and if you want to see them all you will have to take a trip to the Argentine side. The falls on the Argentina side are more stepped than the Brazilian and there are more walkways giving access. You can even go swimming in some of the splash pools ! Allow at least 1 day to see the Argentine side.
